Behind the scenes of the Mexican LGBT web series, ‘Con Lugar’

‘Con Lugar’ is a first-of-its-kind production in Mexico. While there are instances of LGBT-identified characters in mainstream narratives, it is the first production that is entirely supported by LGBT-identified lead characters and situations. Season one debuted on YouTube last Spring and immediately it gained tens of thousands of followers, without any promotion, and a Kickstarter campaign last fall collected enough support that production began on season two earlier this year. The Mexico City-based story—that traces the experiences of Aaron, who moved to Mexico City from a small town in season one—takes a detour to the vacation and resort city of Puerto Vallarta in season two. It is there where we caught up with the cast and crew from the production, specifically while they shot a pool party scene one evening at Hotel Mercurio. These videos are from Facebook Live streams we produced that evening.
