Christians cannot and will not condone the sin of LGBT people

A response to the article titled “City ahead of the curve on inclusiveness” printed in The Register-Herald on July 19th on the editorial page.

For those who perhaps have forgotten t he content of the article, let me refresh your memory. It was in reference to Huntington, WV and cities across the USA celebrating June as LGBT pride month.

There is no pride in celebrating a sinful lifestyle. This nation has allowed sin to be called acceptable and is promoted. The LGBT agenda goes against Scripture by calling evil good and good evil (see Isaiah 5:20).

The Bible is quite clear about sexual immorality. “They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served something created instead of the Creator, who is blessed forever” (Romans 1:25).

Let’s go on, “This is why God delivered them over to degrading passions. For even their females exchanged natural sexual intercourse for what is unnatural. The males in the same way also left natural sexual intercourse with females and were inflamed in their lust for one another” (Romans 6:26-27). “And because they did not think it worthwhile to have God in their knowledge, God delivered them over to a worthless mind to do what is morally wrong (Romans 6:28).

When men and women begin to feel the tragic consequences of their sexual sins you would think they would repent and seek God, but just the opposite seems to be true. There are a remarkable number of individuals who have turned from the LGBT lifestyle and become followers of Jesus Christ. There is forgiveness of all sin if one is willing to repent, turn from sin and call upon the Lord and be received into His kingdom to spend eternity with Him.

Let me quote Dan Crawford, British missionary to Africa, “The heathen are sinning against a flood of light.” Yes, there is out there a desperate need for us Christians to carry the Gospel to all, for this is the only way they can be saved.

We Christians are not haters of the LGBT people as individuals, but we cannot and will not condone their sin.
