Ellen Page has opened up about her marriage to Emma Portner, while insisting marriage equality is ‘not a a debate.’
‘I guess it just feels really grounding and really beautiful,’ she said. ‘Absolutely I’ve been in love before, and this was definitely a very different new kind and new form, clearly.’

Ellen’s words follow her making headlines last week for publicly calling out fellow Hollywood actor Chris Pratt for his affiliation with church Hillsong.
Ellen called Hillsong ‘famously anti-LGBT’ in a tweet, to which Chris responded defending the church on Instagram,
In a Story, he said: ‘Nothing could be further from the truth. I go to a church that opens their doors to absolutely everyone.’ ‘Stop treating it like it’s a debate’
Speaking about marriage equality to the The Independent in another new interview, Page said: ‘There is one side that is right, and there is one side that is wrong. Gay marriage… it’s not a debate.
‘Whether you have the religious right to f***ing not serve a queer person or a trans person, that’s not a debate. And the media needs to stop treating it like it’s a debate. It’s actually Not. A. Debate. It never has been. Like… Stop it.’
The Umbrella Academy star furthermore added that coming out was a ‘massive relief’, adding: ‘I mean, I barely touched a woman outside until I was 27 years old. Crazy.’ See also:
