Timothée Chalamet explains his ‘sex harness’ at the Golden Globes

Chalamet turned heads at the 76th Golden Globes Awards when he dressed in the Louis Vuitton-designed accessory, which he paired with a tailored black shirt and trousers.

Speaking on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Friday, Chalamet explained that his raunchy-looking ensemble was not intended to resemble a harness. Timothée Chalamet: “Sex dungeon culture is a thing”

“I thought it was a bib―they told me it was a bib,” he told host Ellen DeGeneres.

“I had a friend send me a thing, like, sex dungeon culture is a thing, where you wear harnesses.

“I didn’t do it for that reason.”

Following Chalamet’s Golden Globes appearance, social media users compared his outfit to a bondage body harness.

“I know I’m late to the party but why did Timothée Chalamet wear an actual sex harness to #GoldenGlobes2019,” one person wrote on Twitter. “I thought it was a bib―they told me it was a bib.”

Another said : “WHERE can I buy the sex swing that Timothée Chalamet’s harness clips into?”

Chalamet was praised by queer fans at the Golden Globes when he gave $1,000 to New York’s LGBT Community Centre in an interview on the red carpet.

The Golden Globes 2019 included big wins for the LGBT+ community with major titles and actors taking the lead.

LGBT+ themed shows and films , including Killing Eve and A Very English Scandal , dominated the 76th Golden Globe Awards 2019, with Bohemian Rhapsody bagging two accolades.

The 2018 Queen biopic won accolades for best film drama, with lead actor Rami Malek, who played Freddie Mercury, scooping best drama actor.

Comedy-drama Green Book , meanwhile, landed three gongs for best musical or comedy film, best supporting actor for Mahershala Ali and best screenplay.

Lesbian period film The Favourite , set in 18th century England , bagged its first award of the year at the Golden Globes.

Lead actor Olivia Colman, who plays Queen Anne, received the accolade for best actress in a musical or comedy.

The movie is also up for 12 BAFTAs.
